Understanding the Early Developmental Assessments Project
The Early Developmental Assessments Project has been created to help families of children aged 2 to 5 years access developmental assessment when there are early concerns about development. Your child does not need to have a diagnosis or confirmed disability to be considered.
This project is designed to help families gain a clearer understanding of their child’s strengths, needs, and the most appropriate next steps. Depending on the outcome of the assessment, this may include recommendations for allied health support, further assessment, or early intervention pathways where appropriate.
Parents and carers can self-refer by completing an Expression of Interest form, and we also encourage families to apply if concerns have been raised by their daycare, GP, child health nurse, or another professional.
Submit Your Expression of Interest
This is a limited funded project, with places currently available for up to 50 assessments between Term 2 and Term 3. As places are limited, families are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest while places are available.
